Free Wedding Ceremonies

The Gwinnett County Probate Court invites you to participate in our free wedding ceremonies, held most Friday afternoons, excluding holidays. Reservations are required.
***All couples will be married simultaneously in a single group ceremony in one of three (3) possible scheduled times:
- English-language ceremonies:
- First ceremony: 1:00 p.m.
- Second ceremony: 1:30 p.m.
- Spanish-language ceremony:
- One ceremony at 2:00 p.m.
- Only for Spanish-speaking couples

Due to ongoing renovations, the Check-in table/ceremony location is subject to change. Notices of any location change will be posted at the GJAC Jury Assembly Space and Courtroom 1-H.

Step-by-Step Sign-Up Process
- Make an online reservation HERE
- Reservations are required to participate.
- Complete marriage application soon. DO NOT DELAY IN APPLYING.
- Marriage application information can be found HERE
- If your marriage application is approved, you will receive the required Georgia marriage license that allows you to get married.
- Do NOT wait until the day of the ceremony to apply for a marriage license as applying for a marriage license is a lengthy process and you may not be finished in time or even on that date due to deficiencies in your application— which may result in your ceremony being rescheduled for another date.
- The Couple and all guests must arrive at the check-in table no later than 15 minutes BEFORE your ceremony begins.
- Plan for potential traffic, parking, and security delays in arriving to the Check-in table.
- Check-in to ceremony with required documents.
- Present your (1) valid marriage license and (2) a government-issued photo ID for both partners.

- Reserve your ceremony date and time online HERE
- Apply for your marriage license early: MARRIAGE APPLICATION PACKET
- Do not wait until the ceremony day to apply or risk rescheduling your ceremony.
- Processing may take over an hour due to incomplete applications.
- Long lines and delays due to incomplete applications are common.

Requirements on the Day of Ceremony
- The Couple and all guests must arrive at Check-in Table at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time
- Plan for traffic, parking, and security in arriving 15 minutes early to check-in.
- Check-in at the designated table
- While guests are not required to check in, they should also arrive on time, or the ceremony may begin without them
- Present required documents at Check-in:
- Valid Georgia marriage license
- Government-issued photo IDs for both partners
FAQs Answered
- Gwinnett County Probate Court issues all marriage licenses in Gwinnett County.
- Please direct any questions regarding marriage licenses to the Gwinnett County Probate Court at 770.822.8350 or visit HERE.
- There is no fee for your wedding ceremony, which will be hosted by the Gwinnett County Probate Court for the benefit of the community.
- The cost of obtaining a marriage license is $56.00 or $16.00 with proof of premarital education. Marriage certificates and/or certified copies of the marriage application are $10.00 each.
- To cancel a wedding ceremony reservation, please call 770-822-8350. By cancelling a reservation you no longer need, you could open up reservation space for another couple.

- All couples will be married simultaneously in a single group ceremony.

- No Spanish speaking ability = No Spanish wedding ceremony reservation
