Superior Court

Superior Court is a trial court of general jurisdiction. The court has exclusive, constitutional authority over felony cases, prosecuted by the District Attorney's Office, regarding title to land, equity, declaratory judgments, habeas corpus, mandamus, quo warranto, prohibition, adoptions, and divorce. This court is authorized to correct errors made by lower courts by issuing certiorari and, for some lower courts, the right to direct review by this court applies.

Gwinnett County Treatment Court Program is a sentencing alternative for a person charged with DUI and a diversion program for a person charged with felony drug charges. The program offers participants intensive outpatient treatment, random drug screening, and Court reviews in order to help reduce the recidivism rate among the substance abusing population. Gwinnett County Division of the Ga. Dept. of Human Resources/Child Support Division. The Gwinnett Superior Court has exclusive jurisdiction over cases brought by the Georgia DHS/Child Support Division in Gwinnett County. Each month the Superior Court conducts these hearings establishing, registering, modifying and enforcing child support collected through the DHS/Child Support Division. Some hearings are conducted in person at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, and some hearings are conducted remotely via Zoom.
