Gwinnett County Magistrate Court



To better serve the citizens of Gwinnett County, Gwinnett County Magistrate Court provides free wedding ceremonies by appointment only and as set forth below:

Weddings By Appointment Only

The Gwinnett County Magistrate Court provides free ceremonies to citizens of Gwinnett County Halloween 10:31 AM on October 31, 2023 at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse.

Weddings are by appointment only.  Walk-ins are not accepted. Reservation is on-line only.

Requirements

Couples must present a valid Georgia marriage license on their wedding day.

By law, Gwinnett County Probate Court issues all marriage licenses in Gwinnett County. (Gwinnett County Magistrate Court does not issue marriage licenses.) Questions regarding marriage licenses should be directed to the Gwinnett County Probate Court at 770.822.8250.

All couples should arrive at least fifteen (15) minutes early to check in. Free parking is available in the City of Lawrenceville Parking Deck located at 147 East Crogan St., Lawrenceville, GA 30046.

Fees

There is no fee for any wedding performed at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse.

General Information

The ceremonies are short and move rapidly. On occasion, the ceremonies are performed as a group wedding.

Only handheld photographic equipment authorized by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department’s Court Security Policy is permitted in the Courtroom.

Official witnesses are not required. However, friends and family are welcome. We just ask that you and your party recognize and understand that wedding ceremonies are performed in a busy, working courtroom.
